Import in one go · dates are kept
The family group, the chat with grandma: years of photos, buried in chats. Export the chat and move everything into a safe timeline in one go — with the dates and messages included.
Import your chatFree account · the chat itself never leaves your phone
Want to see what it looks like first? Try the WhatsApp timeline: free, and everything stays in your own browser.
In WhatsApp: tap the name of the chat → Export chat → Attach media. You get a single ZIP file.
Upload the ZIP to Ouderliefde. Your browser unpacks it and shows all the photos — you tick the ones you want.
Every photo lands in the timeline on the day it was sent, with its message as the caption.
After the import you don't need to change your habits. Link a WhatsApp number to your child and everything you send to it automatically becomes a memory:
Family can even record a message for your child through a share link — to hear now, or sealed for later. That way everything is together in one place, instead of scattered across chats you’ll never find again.
Yes. At ouderliefde.app/whatsapp-tijdlijn you drag your export onto the page and see it straight away as a timeline, for free. It all happens in your own browser: nothing is uploaded.
Open the chat in WhatsApp, tap the name at the top and choose 'Export chat' → 'Attach media'. You get a ZIP file with all the photos and the chat. Choose that file in Ouderliefde, and the photos appear in your child's timeline with their date and message.
Yes, that's the difference with saving photos one by one: we read the chat too. Every photo gets the date it was sent, and the message that went with it ('first day of swimming lessons!') becomes the caption. If there's no date in the chat, we use the date the photo was taken.
No. The ZIP file is unpacked and read in your own browser. Only the photos you tick are uploaded to your own private account; the chat itself never leaves your device.
WhatsApp compresses photos, and a chat is not an archive: lose your phone, have a backup fail or delete a chat by accident and it's all gone. And you'll never find 'that one photo of the first steps' again in three years of chat. In a timeline for each child, you will.
Yes. Besides the import, you can link a WhatsApp number to your child: everything you (or grandma) send to it — photos, videos, voice notes, text — is saved automatically. Message the way you always do, and it's kept without you having to think about it.
The import itself is free; the free plan keeps up to 20 photos, paid plans unlimited (Plus €3.49/month). Handy if you're moving a few years of photos across in one go.
Three years of photos from the family group — safe, organised and easy to find by tonight.
